When China attacked India back in
1962 and annexed a big portion of North Eastern Laddakh region (a part
of Jammu & Kashmir State) it became a hell of a task for Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru (a bald-headed man) to explain the loss in the
Parliament.
Taking part in the raging debate in Lok
Sabha - The (Lower) House of Commons - Nehru came out with a meek
and very weak argument in his defense. He said, in effect:
What China has annexed is
a desolate, desert area. Not a blade of grass grows there.
Nobody can live there. It is of no use to the Chinese. |
One hot–minded, irrepressible
Opposition leader, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, could not control himself. He
rose from his seat and furiously shouted into the mike:
Not a trace of hair grows
on your head. No one can live there either. Are you prepared to give
your skull to the Chinese too? |
It effectively sealed the mouth
of the Prime Minister.
