HOLLYWOOD
- This is the place where hopefuls from around the world come to make
their dreams come true. So why can't I?
In this space I'll share my experiences with you as I dedicate my energies
to becoming an actress.
Some people may read this and think I'm naive and a dreamer, but as long as
I'm aware of the scams and the amount of competition in this town I
don't see why I can't give it a try just like any other career.
Entertainment is a wonderful field to be a part of. Do you know anyone who
doesn't like movies? And can you think of a better job than playing
make-believe, and getting paid for it? I can't.
My true love in life is to be a part of the arts. I've studied acting,
singing and dancing and performed, on and off, since the age of five. I
don't want to be 50 years old, cringing with regret for not having given
it my best shot as a professional.
I'm 27 years old and figure, "It's now or never." I have as much
of a chance as anyone else to achieve success in this town, although I
know it's not guaranteed by any means.
My definition of success doesn't necessarily mean becoming rich and famous,
but to become a 'working actor;' to make enough money to live
comfortably and enjoy what I do with my life and career.
There are many different ways to get into this business. There isn't one set
way. This was the first thing I had to learn: I had pursue acting like I
would pursue any other job.
I figured you put together a good resume, give a good interview and get
the job, but it's not as easy as that. I'm taking all the steps I think
are necessary to help further myself in my career and speed my way
towards my goals.
It doesn't happen overnight.
